Course Overview

This is a Live Webinar event that will be held on September 25, 2024 - 8am AWST, 10am AEST, 12pm NZST.

 

Treating Foot Injury and Pain is designed for the orthopedic and sports acupuncturist. This course emphasizes diagnosis and assessment along with creative treatment plans and choice of points based upon anatomical factors. While emphasizing only the most common foot injuries and pain syndromes, these easy-to-understand approaches result in increased clinical effectiveness and confidence. The following structures are covered in this three-hour course:

 

(1) The achilles tendon. Highlights: Threading the achilles tendon.

(2) The achilles bursae.

(3) Plantar fasciitis and fasciiosis. With the important addition of the abductor hallucis muscle.

(4) The talar joint and sprained ankle. Highlights:Treating the ankle at the talar sinus at GB 40.

  • Know common foot injuries and pain syndromes.

  • Protocols for managing the muscle, tendon, joints and common issues of the achilles tendon.

  • Protocols for managing the muscle, tendon, joints and common issues of the plantar fascia.

  • Protocols for managing the muscle, tendon, joints and common issues of the ankle joint.

    Presentation of the foot, its anatomy, and how it gets injured and dysfunctional.

    Presentation of the achilles tendon, with anatomy, injury sites, orthopedic assessment, and how to manage pain.

    Presentation of the plantar fascia, with anatomy, injury sites, orthopedic assessment, and how to manage pain.

    Presentation of the talocural joint and the subtalar joint, with anatomy, injuries sites, orthopedic assessment, and how to manage pain.

    Review of the three major sites of injury in the foot, causing dysfunction and pain
