Course Overview
This is a Live Webinar event that will be held on May 20, 2025 - 8am AWST, 10am AEST, 12pm NZST.
In this course, Derrick McBride walks through the etiology, presentation, assessment, and treatment of a very common anterior knee pain syndrome that afflicts patients of all ages and activity levels. While the syndrome is commonly referred to as “Runner’s Knee”, it often shows up in less active and elderly populations.
The course begins with a background on the injury with descriptions of how it presents, how it frequently occurs, and what patients report subjectively. Derrick then walks you through how to properly perform an objective orthopedic exam to confirm and differentially diagnose the condition.
Anatomically driven acupuncture treatments are discussed and presented using high-definition video. Specific locations, angles, and depths of needles to target the anatomical tissues of interest are emphasized.
At the end of the course, Derrick presents functional movement considerations to correct imbalances that frequently lead to the condition and help rehabilitate the injury to a fully functional level.
By the end of the 3 hour course, the student will have a strong understanding of the pain syndrome, how to assess it, how to treat it, and how to begin the rehabilitation process.
The recordings will be made available for you to review after the event!
