Course Overview

This course explores methods to learn to feel Qi in the pulse, meridians, points and abdomen. These approaches can be applied to needling and patient treatment. They include various breathing styles, Qi awarness exercises, gathering Qi, using your Hara, and ways to deepen your patients relaxation response.

Objectives

  • Be able to describe the concept of Hara, points, meridian, and Qi in Western language.

  • Learn methods to deepen patients parasympathetic responses.

  • Understand various breathing methods.

  • Learn about posture.

Outline

  • 0 hrs - 30 min

    Learn about the concept of Qi, the western language used for it and the original meaning.

  • 30 min - 1 hrs

    Learn about breathing, posture and needling.

  • 1 hrs - 1.5 hrs

    Be able to describe various methods to enhance the patient's relaxation response.

  • 1.5 hrs - 2 hrs

    Learn about the concept of Hara and how it relates to acupuncture.
