Course Overview

Focusing on nine acupuncture points for the treatment of serious lung disorders, this webinar dusts off old classic points so they are seen in a new and fresh light. A reminder is also given of the importance of the Yang Sheng Nourishing Life tradition to provide a sound basis for health and to build strong immunity.

Useful points to treat serious respiratory disorders are presented from Bl 12 Wind Gate at the first sign of attack, through the many-faceted Lung shu point Bl 13, to the severe breathless exhaustion and emaciation of both strongly regulatory Bl 42 Po Door and Sun Simiao's deeply restorative and tonifying point Bl 43 that can revive from death's door.

From the area of the Middle Pass on the back we move to the Central Temple of Ren 17 at the front, location of the Middle Cinnabar Field, showing the strong links of Chinese medicine with the Daoist internal alchemy tradition. Also powerfully regulatory, Ren 17 clears the lungs and transforms phlegm, while the Flowery Canopy of Ren 20 cools and refreshes and the Jade Pivot of Ren 21 frees up the fixity and stagnation of a tight, painful chest.

The Central Storehouse of Lu 1 invigorates when both lung and spleen are compromised, transforming phlegm and calming dyspnoea, while the refined Cloud Gate of Lu 2 clears heat and restores the fine beneficial mist of the upper heater, especially helpful to the elderly with their tendency to dryness and deficient yin.

The presentation ends with a poem, Immunity Unity.
