Course Overview
The course is tailored for body Acupuncturists that want to learn more about both the diagnostic as well as the treatment aspects of ear acupuncture specifically for use in pain pathologies and addictions. This course is the culmination of 20 years of specialization in Auricular therapy, taking the most useful aspects of both Chinese Ear Acupuncture as well as European Auricular Medicine. Practitioners will learn that auricular point localization are an excellent way of guiding the body acupuncturist in their choice of what body points, as well as how many points, to use to get optimal results. In addition, different treatment methods for the ear will be discussed and practiced in this clinically-motivated course.

Demonstrate exact auricular locations on the anatomical body

Designate what auricular technique would provide the greatest relief to a patient's pathology

Utilize effective and easy auricular treatments as an adjunct to the primary treatment modality

Implement effective strategies from auricular findings for patients suffering from problems common to common pain pathology

Utilize the most recent and effective auricular neurological localizations on primary and secondary pain presentation

Demonstrate the capability of utilizing auricular findings to create effective treatment plans

Have knowledge of what type of auricular method would best be utilized on a patient's primary pathology.
Outline
0 hrs - 1 hrs
Introduction to course; auricular somatic correspondences.
1 hrs - 1.5 hrs
Auricular Diagnosis, skin discolorations, palpation for tenderness, sensory and motor points on front and back of the ear, electrical detection demo and recorded supervised practice.
1.5 hrs - 2.75 hrs
Auricular Terminology: Landmarks, Embryological perspective, Neurological innervation, Mesoderm Point Locations, Musculoskeletal points (front and back of the ear), Spinal vertebrae view of lower and upper limbs; recorded hands-on practice.
2.75 hrs - 4.25 hrs
Skull, face, and sensory organ location; Sensory and functional point location practice; Master points definition, clinical uses, and surface and hidden view. Explanation of clinical usage; Intro to auriculotherapy types of points; master functional local and combining with body points.
4.25 hrs - 5.75 hrs
Dr. Dales’ bodypoints usefulness; First Aid combined with ear; Demonstration of Radii point treatments and Pathologies; Practice of First Aid and Radii point treatments; Intro to Battlefield Acupuncture with Dr. Neimtzow; Central Nervous System point locations; Functional Ear Point locations and recorded supervised practice.
5.75 hrs - 7.25 hrs
Recorded Q&A; Ear Zones and frequencies from Nogiere; Internal organ and urogenital points; Practice of ear zones, organ and urogenital points; Auricular diagnosis and treatment techniques; Considerations for treating ear and body points together.
7.25 hrs - 8.5 hrs
Extraordinary vessels used in pain presentations; Case presentations using Extraordinary vessels; Addiction Therapy and European Addiction points; Location of points that are useful in addiction; Recorded Q&A on addiction treatments.
8.5 hrs - 10 hrs
Smoking Cessation Program Design, Intervention — Education, and Treatments Demonstration; Recorded Q&A on Points and Treatment Design modality.
10 hrs - 11.5 hrs
Smoking Protocol, location, and recorded practice; NADA protocol explanation and recorded location practice; Recorded demonstration of auricular treatments; Review of course and Q&A; Review of important aspects of ear/body treatment.
