Course Overview
Intentional Touch is one of the most valuable tools a practitioner can have in their toolbox. Without touch we slowly die. Early on, in another course I created, I referenced the case of twin babies, who, when placed into separate incubators, and saved by a nurse who went against hospital rules and moved them into one incubator. The stronger of the two babies put her arm around her dying sister; the smaller baby’s heart stabilized and her temperature rose to normal. (1995 article)
In 2017, while living in CA, I studied Canine Massage and cared for a quadriplegic man and his service dog. He had broken his neck in a diving accident at the age of 20 and was unable to feel most of his body. When I met him he was 36, wheelchair bound and living with his service dog. The two were inseparable. Though he was paralyzed, he had his hearing, and the use of head,, neck, shoulders, arms, and some of his fingers. I began testing the waters, treating him with Acupressure or "Shiatsu," and tuning forks, as vibration is said to go even deeper than needles. I also did treatments using his dog as a conduit: "surrogate treatments." By applying gentle pressure to specific points, such as "ashi" or trigger points, one can affect change in the flow of Qi in the human and animal body. Tuning forks are another means of applying touch with the added benefit of sound. Using these protocols with the Extraordinary Vessel points creates a potent treatment for balancing yin and yang.
