Japan has a rich heritage of using acupuncture and moxibustion for the treatment of children from birth till teens. This class covers various styles of treatment including pulse, abdomen, and symptom diagnosis including moxibustion and non-insertion needling methods.

 

Address common conditions like allergies, asthma, anxiety, bed wetting, digestive issues, headaches, sleep problems, and sports injuries.

Objectives

  • The student will learn about the history and background of children's acupuncture in China, Japan and the USA.

  • The student will learn about the various Japanese acupuncture types of acupuncture for the treatment of children.

  • The students will learn about diagnosis, precautions and when to refer children to medical doctors.

  • Students will learn about specific acupuncture methods for specific conditions.

  • Students will learn about tapping, point location, moxa, pulse and abdominal diagnosis.

Outline

  • 0 hrs - 30 min

    The history and background of children's acupuncture.

  • 30 min - 1 hrs

    The method for diagnosis including pulse, abdomen and symptoms.

  • 1 hrs - 1.5 hrs

    The Japanese tapping method for children.

  • 1.5 hrs - 2 hrs

    Japanese Five phase theory and the treatment of children.

Dr Cameron Bishop lived, worked and studied in Japan for four years. He specializes in Japanese Meridian therapy, Women's Health and Pain Management. He has been practicing over 25 years in South Florida. He has extensive teaching and clinical experience.
