Course Overview

This is a Live Webinar event that will be held on November 20, 2024 - 9am AWST, 12pm AEDT, 2pm NZDT.

Treating Neck and Shoulder Posture is designed for the orthopedic and sports acupuncturist. This course emphasizes diagnosis and assessment, with all treatment plans and choice of points based upon anatomical factors. Included are trigger points, motor points, and muscle-tendon junctions. The yin-yang relationship between shoulder retraction and protraction is described, with clinically effective points and treatment strategies. The following structures are covered in this three-hour course:

(1) The shoulder retractors: The rhomboid major and minor. Highlights: Region of Bl 42, Bl 43.

(2) The shoulder protractors: Pectoralis major and minor. Highlights: The region of Lu 1, St 14, St 15, St 16 3.

(3) The posterior neck.

Highlights: Bl 10, Bailao.

(4) The levator scapulae.

Highlights: SI 14, SI 15

This course presents how acupuncture can be used to treat and correct dysfunctional neck and shoulder posture. The "anterior" and "forward" head, neck and shoulder is often due to prolonged sitting and desk jobs. Along with proper therpeutic exercise, acupuncture can help correct these dysfunctional imbalances.

Whitfield has given instruction on treating the neck and shoulder in many of his live seminars and online webinars. This course has some new material and additional protocols.

The recordings will be made available for you to review after the event!
