Course Overview
In this course Paul Movsessian will cover;
Onkyu - Heat & Pressing Moxa including: Tiger Warmer, Lion Warmer, Elephant Warmer, Rolling Drum Warmer, Brass Burner, and various other Moxa Holding Devices.
Den Netsu Kyu - Electrical Moxa Devices including: Heat Lamps, TDP's, Firard Lamps, Infrared Lamps, Electric Moxa tools, Dr. Manaka's Electrical Moxa Substitute, Bunshin Moxa Pen, Bite Away, and the Premio 10 electronic moxa device.
Liquid Moxa, Moxa Essence, Moxa Plasters, and Self-Heating packs.
Non-Mugwort Moxa such as Mulberry twigs & Peach twigs.
Mugwort Punk Methods such as Ironing Moxibustion, Mugwort Cake Moxibustion, Fumigating Moxibustion, Soaking Method, Steaming Method, and Pressing Method.
Moxa Boxes, Ibuki Platform & indirect Moxa methods.
We will study the non-scaring methods of Hirato Motoshiro sensei's Slotted Bamboo and Heat Shields style Okyu.
We will introduce the 150 year old family lineage of Hacho Moxibustion from the Sakamoto Koichi Family Tradition which will also include the moxa methods for gum and mouth diseases.
Japanese Moxibustion Protocols of Irie, Shiroda, Dr. Manaka, Sawada, Fukaya for specific conditions.
Also the precautions and contraindications with the various tools.
As well we will be focusing on the ability to use moxa methods that require no smoke for clinics that are limited by such conditions.
This final course in the Moxa Series is one of the most interesting due to the many alternate moxa methods we will study.

You will learn about the differences between the various heat used in electrical tools such as TDP, Infrared, & Farinfrared lamps. Contraindications & precautions for various moxa tools. Introduce Non-Mugwort Moxa - Mulberry twigs & Peach twigs.

You wil develop skills in smokeless methods to accomodiate clinics or patients that are averse to smoke. Train in non-scarring moxa methods and introduce you to a 150 year old family tradition of Hacho moxa. Learn moxa for specific conditions.

3 hrs - 3.5 hrs
Moxa Plasters, Hot Spots, Self-Heating Packs, Heated River Stones, and Hara Warmers. Hot versus Cold Therapy. Application principles and Precautions.
3.5 hrs - 4.5 hrs
Mugwort Punk Methods: Mugwort Cake or Ironing Moxa, Fumigating Moxa, Soaking, Steaming & Pressing Methods. Jade Heating Stones. Visual presentation.
4.5 hrs - 6.5 hrs
Pole or Stick Moxa, Moxa Boxes, Moxa Walnut Glasses, Platform & Indirect Moxa methods. Precautions. Showing of tools and visual presentation.
6.5 hrs - 7.5 hrs
Slotted Bamboo Non-Scaring Moxa Method. Hacho Moxibustion from the Sakamoto Koichi Family Tradition which will also include the moxa methods for gum and mouth diseases. Showing of tools and visual presentation.
7.5 hrs - 8 hrs
Shonishin Moxa - Moxa for children, Japanese Moxibustion of Irie, Shiroda, Manaka, Sawada & Fukaya. Precautions & contraindication.
