We are pleased to be able to present noted US facial acupuncture author/educator, Mary Elizabeth Wakefield, L. Ac., M. S., M. M., AAAOM Educator of the Year, after her highly successful appearance at AACMAC 2008 in Sydney, in a return Australian engagement, presenting all 3 of her acclaimed Level 1 certification series seminars.
Module 1: Constitutional Facial Acupuncture Renewal™ (3 days); Melbourne, Sydney, Auckland
This class will teach the acupuncturist how to assess and customize an acupuncture treatment, by ascertaining the specific meridian involvement in the aging process of the patient. This seminar will also cover important
contraindications for treatments, prescreening of patients, and facial acupuncture intake forms and release forms, to ensure safe and successful treatments. The special function of points for Constitutional Facial
Acupuncture Renewal™, in particular, the muscular tonification/sedation techniques of French acupuncturist Jacques Lavier and the use of facial motor points for treatment of the neck muscles, will also be introduced.
Module 2: Constitutional Facial Non-Needle Modalities™ & Herbal Adjunct Therapies (3 days);Melbourne only*
In this seminar, the Instructor will analyze facial wrinkles according to muscle and acupuncture point function, using Chinese, Japanese and European acupressure techniques. Oriental facial diagnosis, Facial Gym exercises,
plus protocols for microcurrents, LED's and tuning forks (Facial Soundscapes: Harmonic Renewal™) will be introduced. Also covered will be Chinese, Western and folk herbal remedies for specific skin syndromes, such as hyperpigmentation, rosacea, eczema, broken capillaries, etc. Participants will create and take home an herbal facial mask and custom-blended essential oils. An essential oil Materia Medica, incorporating principles of Oriental medicine, will also be taught.
Module 3: Advanced Constitutional Facial Acupuncture Renewal™ (3 days); Brisbane only*
This class will cover advanced needling techniques such as: scar needling, intradermal needling, Japanese techniques, threading, needle depth and insertion techniques, as well as in-depth work with facial muscles
and motor points. Students will participate in a business forum, and will be individually evaluated by the Instructor to determine their proficiency with the details of the treatment protocol.

Please note: Module 1, Constitutional Facial Acupuncture Renewal™ is pre-requisite for this advanced seminar. *Practitioners who previously completed Module 1 in Brisbane are eligible to take both Modules 2 and 3.
