Constitutional Facial Acupuncture Archetypes: Discovering your Original Face With Mary Elizabeth Wakefield (Sydney)

Sat 26 Mar 2011

This innovative certification series examines our constitutional blueprints (archetypes) in conjunction with the 6 stages of the Shang Han Lun, to address basic behavior, personality traits, health tendencies and the quality of Shen in everyone. Utilizing information from ancient Chinese texts, participants will learn how to determine their dominant constitution, personal expression, complexion (Shen), archetypal physiognomy, constitutional tendencies to form wrinkles, and their potential for "healthy aging". Also included is a mapped-out protocol for each of the 6 zones Taiyang/Shaoyin (back), Yangming/Taiyin (front) and Shaoyang/Jueyin (side)- for both face and body; advanced needling techniques, trigger points motor points and "ashi" points. The 3 constitutional levels, Jing (8 Extraordinary meridians), Ying (TCM points) and Wei (ashi points) will also be considered. Participants will be provided with information regarding contraindications, benefits, intake/release forms, patient pre-screening, and will be introduced to a topical Chinese herbal facial protocol. The Instructor will demonstrate the entire facial acupuncture protocol, and participants will give and receive treatments under her supervision.
