Dragon Rises - Introductory Contemporary Chinese Pulse Diagnosis Classes in Melbourne 2010
Thu 14 Oct 2010
Contemporary Chinese Pulse Diagnosis represents the combined work of Dr John Shen OMD and Dr Leon Hammer. This system of pulse diagnosis was brought to the USA by Dr Shen in 1971. Based on the clinical findings of their many years of numerous treatments they refined and further developed this model by documenting consistent findings in pulse reading that were found repeatedly in different patients presenting with common problems.
The resulting method allows access to a reliable source of diagnostic information that is relevant to our current times and modern diseases. In learning this method students learn to evaluate the physiological and psychological state of their patients and detect situations of dysfunction that can lead to severe illness.
Proficiency in pulse diagnosis has declined since the standardization of "Traditional Chinese Medicine" saw the end of the master and novice learning. Becoming competent in understanding the message that is transmitted by the pulse and correlating this with other diagnostic information ensures a more definitive diagnosis.
The Pulse reveals the constitution and habits of the patients and with skill becomes ad relatively objective finding. When patients are not reporting of are unaware of their condition the pulse can provide this information. Also the pulse gives a reliable assessment of the mental and emotional state of the patient. This is especially useful in situations where people find issues difficult to reveal. Monitoring the expected course of treatment and prevention is also addressed by this method.
