Course Overview
Please Note: This is an Audio Course.
In Part One, Bob gives an overview of Chinese medical theories around sleep and outlines the key Chinese medical mechanisms of insomnia. Acupuncture and Chinese medicinal protocols are discussed for the most commonly seen patterns. Bob also discusses a pattern that’s not usually listed in beginner’s textbooks even though it’s commonly seen in real-life clinical practice.
Part Two details concerns around sleep apnea, a common and potentially life-threatening condition associated with increased incidence of hypertension and heart disease. Unfortunately, Western medical treatments for this condition are uncomfortable and problematic. Happily, Chinese medicine is capable of treating this condition relatively cheaply and easily. Bob discusses the Chinese medical pattern discrimination of sleep apnea and its treatment via acupuncture and Chinese herbs. This is one area where Chinese medicine can truly treat preventatively.
